Manager isn’t a job title. It’s a skill.

Most of a line manager’s learning happens on the job, which is hard for everyone, but especially the people they manage. You’re expected to set expectations, understand and develop people, appraise performance, drive growth etc., but no one teaches you how to do it.

Would you be an engineer if you couldn’t code? Line management is no different, but it’s often treated as an afterthought.

After years of managing and coaching across different levels and disciplines, I’ve realised that while management situations are different, how to approach them is not unique.

I’m using my experiences to systematise line management and give managers the practical skills they need to do their jobs.
